{"id":1586,"date":"2016-09-26T11:03:17","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T18:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/?p=1586"},"modified":"2016-09-26T17:53:32","modified_gmt":"2016-09-27T00:53:32","slug":"no-one-wants-to-bubble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/index.php\/2016\/09\/26\/no-one-wants-to-bubble\/","title":{"rendered":"No One Wants To Bubble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Piranha\u2019s 3rd Tournament of Season 11 was one of the longest I have witnessed, even though we only had a field of 27 players.\u00a0 After starting a little late due to some confusion on which venue we were using, we only lost three players before the first break. \u00a0 One notable hand that brought us into the first break was between veteran Sanjay Vara and new player Anne Stewart.\u00a0 Sanjay had pocket Queens and Anne had pocket 6 6.\u00a0 Flop comes Q 6 x. Raise, call.\u00a0 Turn brings another 6 giving Anne quads and Sanjay top boat.\u00a0 Sanjay shoves and Anne calls, crippling Sanjay.\u00a0 He then doubled up and tripled up, but could really never regain his momentum.\u00a0 Another notable hand early in the tourney was John Gary Marsh with QQ, Dominic Chan with JJ, and Vineet Kumar with AA.\u00a0 Bet and calls all around.\u00a0 Flop brings Dom a set of Jacks and he shoves.\u00a0 John Gary folds and Vineet calls.\u00a0 Turn brings another A bringing Dom down to two big blinds before the first break.<\/p>\n<p>Play went along fairly steadily after Break 1 and by 6:30 we were at the final table which consisted of 5 veterans, Ryan Drake, Vineet Kumar, Andy Park, Gerry Shebar, and Vlad Troyanker; and 4 newbies, Gilbert Amparo, Elise Gaylord, Sean Paschini, and Alan Sien.\u00a0 Alan was first out in 9th, followed quickly by Gerry, and then Vlad.\u00a0 This brought us to the bubble was lasted almost 2 1\/2 hours!\u00a0 Stacks were fairly even and no one wanted to be the bubble.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1355-15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1595\" src=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1355-15-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_1355-15\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1355-15-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1355-15.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Players were calling with 2 or 3 big blinds.\u00a0 Every time someone shoved, the smaller stack would double up.\u00a0 Andy was the chip leader and lost to Ryan when Ryan rivered the nut flush.\u00a0 Gilbert shoved with 99 which held up against Sean\u2019s A 9. Andy lost with A5 to Vineet\u2019s A8.\u00a0 Elise called Vineet\u2019s 6 6 shove with A3 and did not improve.<\/p>\n<p>Finally a short-stacked Sean shoved his Q 4 and ran into Ryan\u2019s AQ.\u00a0 The bubble was burst.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1596\" src=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1359-17-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_1359-17\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1359-17-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1359-17.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the bubble action went fairly quickly.\u00a0 Gilbert ended in 5th place for 8 points, followed in the next hand by Vineet in 4th place for 15 points.\u00a0 The final three played several hands before the small blind, Andy shoved his 9 4 off into big blind, Ryan\u2019s AQ suited.\u00a0 Flop brings J 2 8, Q on turn improves Ryan\u2019s hand, only to lose to Andy\u2019s straight when a 10 hits the river.\u00a0 Ryan earned 24 points for his effort.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1361-19.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1597\" src=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1361-19-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_1361-19\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1361-19-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1361-19-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1361-19.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Heads up between Andy Park, and first time Piranha player Elise Gaylord.\u00a0 The 3rd hand of heads up Andy shoves and is called by Elise.\u00a0 Both turn over pocket deuces<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1598\" src=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1362-21-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"img_1362-21\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1362-21-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1362-21.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A couple of hands later Elise\u2019s shoved K 10 has Andy\u2019s K 9 dominated.\u00a0 Flop is a 3 4 5 with an A on the turn.\u00a0 Andy calls for a 2 on the river for a chop and his wish is granted!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1363-25.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1599\" src=\"http:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1363-25-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_1363-25\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1363-25-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1363-25-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/piranhapokerteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_1363-25.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Play continues.<\/p>\n<p>Finally on a 6 4 4 flop, Elise shoves her A 7 off &amp;
