It was Tony vs Ricky, once again, heads up for Piranha first place points. The last time they were heads up was on September 8, 2018 when Mr. Robinson won the day and 43 points to Ricky Flora’s second place 31 points. Would this battle end with the same results?
It was tournament 10 on January 12th, and the final table was down to the bubble. Five players remained and only four would gain points.
With the blinds at 1K-2K Sandi Sarmiento pushed all in with only 3,800 chips holding AJ. Ricky Flora called with 8T. The board played out T9854 and Ricky picked up the chips and Sandi exited on the bubble.
Next excitement had Michael Gordon pushing pre-flop with 57 suited. Once again, Ricky was there to make the call, this time with KT. AJ5 on the flop put Gordo ahead but a Q on the turn gave Ricky broadway which sealed Gordo’s fate. He finished fourth and got 5 points for a well played effort.
The blinds were up to 1.5k-3k when Jeannette Sims went all in with J7 suited. This time it was Tony Robinson holding A5 who accepted the challenge. An ace on the flop sent Jeannette into 3rd place with 14 points.So, once again, young Ricky was heads up with Mr. Robinson. Ricky limped in with 68 clubs, Tony raised to 7k holding K2 diamonds. Ricky called. The flop – 7T8, Ricky bet 7K. Tony pushed all in. Ricky called. A jack and ace completed the board and completed the tournament. This time it was Ricky on top with 36 points earned and Tony in second earning 25 points.
