With the season past the halfway mark, 35 showed up to continue the long grind towards trying to earn that coveted Piranha seat. With a projected 10-11 seats to be given out this year it is still anyones game.
This final table consisted of 1 player in the top 10 (Vicky Dea) and a slew of former Piranha seat winners such as Larry Foster, Ray Chiu, Blue Sirius, Mark Navickas, and last years seat winner Sheng Xie. Debra Pope, Olivia Buterina, and Peter Stoffers rounded out a final table that only paid 8. That meant the first one out was going home with nada.
Unfortunatly it was Peter Stoffers going out in 9th for a long hard days work that paid a goose egg. Mark Navickas, Blue Sirius, and Olivia Butorina were the next 3 to go earning 3, 5, and 8 points respectively. Vickey Dea, who has seemed to make a lot of Final tables this year was next out in 5th earning an important 12 points. This jumped her up from 11th to 7th in the overall standings with 86 total. Sheng Zie and Debra Pope were out in 4th and 3rd earning 18 and 30 points. We were on to a Heads up battle of 2 former seat winners Larry Foster and Ray Chiu.
In the end it was Ray Chiu taking down the tourny and 56 important points bringing him closer to the top ten ending up 15th in the overall Standings. Larry Foster earned 43 points for 2nd which jumped him into 11th overall with 73 points. Here is the final hand. Unfortunatly there is no winners pic but here is Ray winning the thang! Congrats Ray!
