Final Table from left to right: Robert Reece, Rod Flora, Jeannette Sims, Tony Robinson, Bill Sims, Amo Tarnoff, Joe Wiebelhaus, David Lam, Harry Chern.

Harry was the first player eliminated finishing 9th.

Bill Sims came in 8th when his pocket fours raced against Robert Reece’s AK that turned into kings full after the board was dealt out.

With the blinds at 800-1,600 three players, (Amo, Rod, Joe), saw the flop of . Rod bet 2,000 and after Amo called, Joe pushed all in. Rod decides to wait for a better spot but Amo calls. Joe has pocket fives yet his set is bested by Amo’s pocket eights. The turn and river add a couple of sixes to the board so Joe finishes in 7th as his fives full of sixes lose to Amo’s eights full. At this point Amo is clearly the chip leader.

Jeannette, having grown short stacked, pushed all-in with pocket jacks. Rod called with AT. His one over card was sufficient when an ace hit the board on the river. Jeannette finished in 6th and Rod’s stack was second only to Amo.

With 5 players left we were on the bubble. David and Tony played two hands. In the first hand David (the shortest remaining stack) went all in with pocket fours. Tony called holding ace five. The fours held up, leaving Tony with only 1,200 chips. In the second hand Tony commits his remaining chips with KQ. David is in the big blind holding and picks up the rest of Tony’s chips when his 56 picks up another 5. Tony finishes on the bubble in 5th.

The final 4 (David, Robert, Rod, Amo) are in the points. (Also, visible in picture, Jan’s knees)

Robert finished in 4th. He pushed his short stack all in from the button holding K5. Of course, Amo called with AQ.

3rd place went to Rod. His stack had been shrinking since it had been a while since he picked up a decent hand. Meanwhile, David had been enjoying a rush of hands. So, when Rod pushed with 88, David called with AJ. The board ran out A2356.

The tournament came to a quick conclusion when Amo open raised from the button with A9. David went all in with AK and Amo shrugged and called. The board: 8A273. Amo finishes 2nd. And David had come from the short stack with 7 players to owning all the chips.
